Culture Differences Between The United States And China

The culture differences between the United States and China This year is my forth year that I has been studying in the United State. I’m already used to the U.S. culture and the U.S. living style. So in general, I didn’t experience any culture shock after I got here. If I had any culture shock, it’s probably three years ago. I couldn’t remember any of them. However I do have some thoughts about the differences between the U.S. and China after four years of studying in the United States. From what I have seen, â€Å"the world is becoming smaller†(Diana 2001) differences between the U.S. and China are becoming less because of the Internet. From one of my friends who is still studying in China, the environment of education didn’t change a lot from the pass four years. He is still suffering through the high school graduation test, which is the most important test for every student in China. He said to me that comparing to him I’m living in heaven and he is living in hell. The culture and value has changed a lot. For example, â€Å"fast food culture, self center, money talks, and lost of the idea of family. Introduction Diabetes (Diabetes mellitus) is a chronic disease caused by number of reasons. Diabetic patient characterized by hyperglycemia (high blood in sugar) resulting from defect of insulin secretion (Mellitus, 2005). World Health Organization (2008) defined the Diabetes untreated disease, known by chronic rise of the concentration of sugar (glucose) in the blood. Glucose is major source of energy in our body, food is convert to fats, protein, and carbohydrate. Carbohydrate when eat, convert to glucose, the glucose is source of energy in the body. Second , the oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT), The OGTT is a two-hour test that checks your blood sugar levels before and 2 hours after you drink a special sugared drink. The blood sugar in healthy people is 80 – 139 mg/dl compere diabetic patient is 200 mg/dl (Diabetes Association, 2008).third, random plasma glucose test .in this test, blood check at any time of day if the glucose is higher than 200 mg/dl. Secondary cultural values, however, tend to be less strong and therefore more likely to undergo change. Generally, social change is preceded by changes over time in a society’s secondary cultural values, for example the change in social attitude towards credit. As recently as the 1960s, personal credit, or hire purchase as is sometimes known, was generally frowned upon and people having such arrangements tended not to discuss it in public. Today, offering instant credit has become an integral part of marketing, with many of us regularly using credit cards and store accounts. Indeed, for many people it is often the availability and terms of credit offered that are major factors in deciding to pu rchase a particular product. The Technological Environment One example of how technological change has affected marketing activities is in the development of electronic point of sale (EPOS) data capture at the retail level. The ‘laser checkout’ reads a bar code on the product being purchased and stores information that is used to analyze sales and re-order stock, as well as giving customers a printed readout of what they have purchased and the price charged. Manufacturers of fast-moving consumer goods, particularly packaged grocery products, have been forced to respond to these technological innovations by incorporating bar codes on their product labels or packaging.
